The Inspiring Story of a Chicano Activist

"My Struggle For The Land And Our Rights" is the gripping memoir of Rodolfo "Corky" Gonzales, a Chicano activist who fought tirelessly for the civil rights of his people. Born in Denver, Colorado, in 1928, Gonzales grew up in a poor and segregated neighborhood. Despite the challenges he faced, he excelled in school and became a talented poet and musician.

In the 1960s, Gonzales emerged as a leader of the Chicano Movement. He co-founded the Crusade for Justice, a Denver-based organization that fought for fair housing, education, and employment for Mexican Americans. Gonzales also became a vocal advocate for the rights of migrant farm workers.

In 1970, Gonzales ran for mayor of Denver. He lost the election, but his campaign inspired a new generation of Chicano activists. He continued to work for social justice throughout his life, and he died in 2005 at the age of 76.
