Early Life and Family
Zach Wilson was born on March 3, 1999, in Draper, Utah, to Mike and Lisa Wilson. He is the youngest of three children, with an older brother, Josh, and an older sister, Whitney. Wilson's father was a high school football coach, and his mother was a stay-at-home mom.
Wilson grew up in a loving and supportive home. His parents encouraged him to pursue his dreams and always be his best. Wilson has always been grateful for the love and support of his family, and he credits them for helping him become the man and player he is today.
High School Career
Wilson attended Corner Canyon High School in Draper, Utah, where he played football, basketball, and baseball. He was a standout athlete in all three sports, but it was on the football field that he truly excelled.
As a quarterback, Wilson led Corner Canyon to back-to-back state championships in 2016 and 2017. He was named the Utah Gatorade Player of the Year in 2017 and was considered one of the top quarterback recruits in the country.
College Career at BYU
Wilson committed to play college football at Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah. He redshirted his freshman season in 2018 and then took over as the starting quarterback in 2019.
In his sophomore season, Wilson led BYU to an 11-1 record and a victory in the Boca Raton Bowl. He threw for 3,692 yards and 33 touchdowns, with just three interceptions. Wilson was named the MVP of the Boca Raton Bowl and was a finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award, given to the nation's top quarterback.
In 2020, Wilson led BYU to a 5-0 record before suffering a season-ending injury in the sixth game of the season. Despite missing the final six games of the season, Wilson was still named the MVP of the Cougars' offense and was a finalist for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award, given to the nation's top senior quarterback.
Wilson finished his college career with 7,652 passing yards, 56 touchdowns, and 15 interceptions. He was one of the most decorated players in BYU history and was considered one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft.
NFL Career
Wilson was selected with the second overall pick by the New York Jets in the 2021 NFL Draft. He started 13 games as a rookie and showed flashes of his potential, but he also struggled at times with turnovers.
In 2022, Wilson is expected to take a big step forward in his development. He has a new offensive coordinator, Nathaniel Hackett, who is known for his innovative play-calling. Wilson also has a more experienced supporting cast around him, including wide receivers Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson.
Wilson is excited about the opportunity to prove himself in the NFL. He is confident that he can be a successful quarterback in New York and help the Jets return to the playoffs.

Wilson is married to Abbey Gile, a former gymnast at BYU. The couple has one child, a daughter named Millie.
