Pete the Cat is a cool cat. He's always happy and he loves to sing. He has a lot of friends, including Callie the Cat, Sally the Squirrel, and Grumpy Bird. One day, Pete gets invited to a groovy playdate at Callie's house. He's excited to go, but he's also a little nervous. He's not sure if the other cats will like him.
When Pete arrives at Callie's house, he sees that the other cats are all dressed up. They're wearing fancy clothes and they're all talking about things that Pete doesn't understand. Pete starts to feel like he doesn't belong. He wishes he had stayed home.
Just when Pete is about to give up, Grumpy Bird flies over to him. Grumpy Bird tells Pete that he doesn't have to be like the other cats. He says that Pete is cool just the way he is. Pete starts to feel better. He realizes that it's okay to be different. He doesn't have to change who he is to fit in.
Pete and Grumpy Bird start to play together. They have a lot of fun. They sing songs, they dance, and they tell stories. The other cats start to notice Pete and Grumpy Bird. They realize that they're having more fun than they are. Soon, the other cats join in on the fun. They all start to play together, and they all have a groovy time.
Pete learns that it's okay to be yourself. He also learns that true friends will always accept you for who you are. No matter what, you should never change who you are to fit in. Be yourself, and the right people will love you for it.
