Coming Home to China: A Journey of Self-Discovery and Belonging
I was born in the United States, but my parents are from China. I grew up in a small town in the Midwest, and I was the only Asian kid in my school. I always felt different, and I never really felt like I belonged.
When I was in college, I started to learn more about my Chinese heritage. I took Chinese language classes and studied Chinese history and culture. I also started to travel to China, and I began to feel a connection to the country and the people.
In 2010, I decided to move to China to teach English. I lived in Beijing for two years, and it was during that time that I really came to understand my Chinese identity. I met people from all over China, and I learned about the different cultures and traditions of the country. I also started to learn more about my family history, and I discovered that I had more Chinese ancestors than I had ever known.

Moving to China was a life-changing experience for me. It was the first time that I had ever felt like I truly belonged. I felt a connection to the country, the people, and my own heritage.
My memoir, Coming Home to China, is about my journey to reconnect with my Chinese heritage and find a sense of belonging. It is a story about family, culture, and identity.
I hope that my story will inspire others who are struggling to find their place in the world. I want to show them that it is possible to find belonging, even if you feel like an outsider.
Here is an excerpt from the book:
>I stood on the Great Wall of China, looking out over the vast expanse of the country below. I had always dreamed of visiting the Great Wall, and now that I was here, I felt a sense of awe and wonder.
>I thought about all the people who had walked on this wall before me. Emperors and generals, soldiers and scholars. They had all come from different backgrounds, but they had all shared a common goal: to protect their country.
>I felt a connection to these people, even though I had never met them. We were all Chinese, and we all shared a love for our country.
>I looked out over the Great Wall, and I felt a sense of pride. I was proud to be Chinese, and I was proud to be a part of this great country.
If you are interested in learning more about my journey, I invite you to read my book, Coming Home to China. It is available on Our Book Library and other online retailers.
