Steve Irwin

Steve Irwin was born in Essendon, Australia, on February 22, 1962. He grew up on a small farm where he developed a love of animals at an early age. When he was nine years old, he caught his first crocodile. By the time he was a teenager, he was working as a crocodile trapper.

In 1991, Steve Irwin opened the Australia Zoo in Beerwah, Queensland. The zoo quickly became one of the most popular tourist attractions in Australia. Steve Irwin's charismatic personality and his passion for animals made him a beloved figure around the world.

Steve Irwin was known for his daring stunts and his close encounters with dangerous animals. He was also a passionate advocate for wildlife conservation. He worked tirelessly to protect crocodiles and other endangered species.

Steve Irwin died on September 4, 2006, after being pierced in the chest by a stingray barb while filming a documentary in the Great Barrier Reef. He was 44 years old.

Terri Irwin
