The Quest to Discover the Deepest Place on Earth
In 1960, Jacques Piccard and Don Walsh piloted the Trieste bathyscaphe to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest known point on Earth. Their journey was a landmark achievement in human exploration, but it also left many questions unanswered.
What lies at the bottom of the trench? What creatures call it home? And what secrets does it hold? The Quest to Discover the Deepest Place on Earth tells the story of the scientists and explorers who have dedicated their lives to answering these questions.
